We went to Elkins, AR today to watch our older son run in a cross country meet. His team came in fifth out of around fifteen. Not bad.

hawk?
Not exactly sure what this is. I think it's a hawk of some sort. It was down by the river and sat in that tree for a long time. It was really big, too. Not the best picture, but I had to take it from far away.

mandolin
Each week I show the kids a different instrument. This week it was the mandolin. I bought this in Mexico City 23 years ago. It cost 4 or 5 dollars and I love the wood work.
