"Tales of the Crypt"
This was done at Fairview Cemetery Sunday afternoon. Six local actors told the stories of some of the well known Van Buren citizens that are buried here. One of the characters, though, wasn't a person that was from Van Buren. C. Person performed the story of Private Charles Frazier, who was a soldier in the Confederate Army that fought in the local battles. He was from somewhere else, but died in Van Buren soon after a battle in northwest Arkansas.

Driving up to my house last night, I saw this, a new sign in the end of my yard. I guess when you have four kids, they figured you should get one of these.

We had to stay at school until 9:00 tonight, due to parent/teacher conference. For me, it's SO boring. I sat for 6 hours by the booths that each grade made to show what they're doing about literacy. I'm ready to go to bed!

What are these?
O.K., I'm not an expert of this sort of thing, but are these butterflies or moths? I think they're moths, but I thought it was strange to be hanging around with a lot of butterflies today. If you know, tell me. :)

This is a view from my Grandma's patio. She was gone to New Mexico to the balloon festival and I told her I would look after her house. This is such a peaceful place. I was sitting there for more than an hour!

We've had a lot of rain in the last couple of weeks! This is a little creek in the "nature trail" at our school and the water is flying by.

I've been seeing these fly through for days, but haven't been able to catch on until today.

I noticed today that autumn is really here! The colors are starting to change.

Last night we went to the new Chili's in Van Buren. The teachers in my school were given cards for a free dinner for two people. It hasn't officially opened yet, so this was a chance for them to practise. It was pretty good.
The photo didn't come out like I wanted it, but that was my view. :)

One of the many old homes in Van Buren.

This is from an art exhibition on Friday night at the Crawford County Art Center. I played the piano during the exhibition, as I often do.

Fort Smith park
I saw this while I was driving through a Fort Smith park. It stuck out like a sore thumb, being such a different style. I really like things like that.

Best place to by meat in Van Buren. They run a smoker everyday, so when you get near, the smell is wonderful!

Trains have always been a very important thing in Van Buren. You have to be careful, though, when you cross the track. :)
Monday, October 02, 2006,7:41 PM
The year that I started high school, the art class began to paint a mural on the river wall to show the history of Van Buren. Different parts of it were added over the next 20 years. This is the first area.

I found this one at a motel in Ft. Smith.
