Lighthouse
This is a view from the Van Buren side of the river to the Fort Smith side. A restaurant called the "Lighthouse Inn" can be seen. It's a really good place to eat if you like seafood.

Ft. Smith
This is a view down Garrison Ave. in Fort Smith. Fort Smith is the second largest city in Arkansas and is across the river from Van Buren. Strait ahead on this photo is a bridge going into Oklahoma.

bridge wreck
I was stuck on top of the 540 Interstate bridge for one and a half hour this afternoon. I never was able to see anything (plus, it was raining hard), but many ambulances and wreckers came by.
I just saw on the news that it was a 12 car accident and some where hurt. I guess I was lucky.

Times are Changing
This is the first "brand name" restaurant in Van Buren. We have every type of fast food in the world, and there are a few local own restaurants, but never had a well known one. To eat well, you have to go over the river to Ft. Smith, but the times are a changing.
